MLSCN extends annual practice fees penalty suspension
Contrary to earlier speculations, the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has extended the temporary suspension of the 200 percent penalty enforcement on late payment of Annual Practice Fees.
MLSCN had earlier suspended the penalty on Annual Practice Fees for six (6) weeks in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The initial suspension was to end this week after the 6 stipulated weeks had elapsed but all thanks to the Governing Board who were thoughtful and considerate enough to have extended it to another 6 weeks with effect from May 18, 2020.
With the extension of the penalty temporary suspension, what it means is that Medical Laboratory Scientists will not be charged penalty until after the stipulated period as the case maybe.
This gesture by the Council has been hailed by many as a step in the right direction considering the level of hardship the pandemic has caused many.
The extension will enable Scientists to have enough time to plan on paying their Practice Fees.
